Ellesmere Port Club of Gymnastics was formed in October 2008, establishing from an existing club in the local area. Our aim was to help to enhance the gymnastic talent in Ellesmere Port, by providing more sessions and opportunities to enter low level-higher level competitions of a progressive nature, as we believe that all children who want to try gymnastics should be offered the best opportunities to show off their individual talents.

The club had been training in a school gymnasium at the formerly known 'Sutton High School', training children of different age and ability, from recreational level - development squad gymnasts. Due to our aspiring visions and our lack of equipment to suit, the club decided it was time to look into moving into its own premises, and that is what we decided to do, and our new fully equipped gymnastics centre opened its doors in July 2010.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our club currently has 7 qualified gymnastic coaches, a number of club helpers, including 2 welfare officers and trainee coaches and volunteers who are working towards taking coaching courses. All of the club coaches, trainees, welfare officers and volunteers have current CRB checks, and the club also benefits from 5 first aid trained members of staff too. We currently have over 200 gymnasts aged 4 and a half years old and older, as well as free-style and adult members also. Until July 2010, the club gymnasts had only been able to work towards Vaulting and Floor competitions, and we had done really well in the few competitions we had entered! However, from July 2010 we were able to begin training in all 4 pieces - Bars, Beam, Floor & Vault, in our newly equipped gymnastics centre, and now enter in 2 piece, 4 piece and 5 piece competitions.

Please note that we currently can only offer sessions to children aged 5 years or over (or 4 + 1/2 years if they are in full time education) and so we can only accept children on to our waiting list at the age of 4 years!
